Where to Watch Live

The game will start at 9:30am BST. Live coverage of the match is on Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports 3 HD.

Overview

Nadal has bagged only three titles in 2015 but has shown glimpses that he is closer to his best than ever before this year, finishing runners-up to Novak Djokovic in Beijing before coming to Shanghai. Stuck at 14 career Grand Slams, the Spaniard will be hoping to make a come-back into the competitive space with a bang. He could take lessons from the way Roger Federer has changed his game to suit his age and physicality, which has paid dividends this year, with the Swiss managing to make it to the final of both Wimbledon and the US Open.

Nadal trounced Swiss Stan Wawrinka 6-2, 6-1 to make it to the semi-finals, showing composure and verve which eluded him for the major part of the year. The Spaniard faced only a single break point which he saved and beat a top-five opponent for the first time in over a year, when he last beat Djokovic to win the 2014 French Open. Nadal was helped by the fact that Wawrinka was struggling to keep pace with the game, having played his eighth match in 10 days after winning the Tokyo Open earlier this week.

Tsonga edged Kevin Anderson 7-6 (6), 5-7, 6-4 to make it to the next round, in what was a feisty battle between two players trying their best to get the better of their opponent. Tsonga showed immense determination and composure to win the first set through a tie-breaker, trailing 3-6 at one point.
