Manchester United and Chelsea target Arturo Vidal is also on the radar of Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to reports.

The Chilean midfielder, who has been in brilliant form over the past few seasons for Italian Serie A club Juventus, is widely recognised as one of Europe's best in his position.

The youngster was targeted by Real boss Carlo Ancelotti last summer but a number of factors prevented Los Blancos from concluding the deal. Vidal's prohibitive price tag, the signing of Asier Illarramendi, the preliminary agreement made with Borussia Dortmund to sign Ilkay Gundogan and the expensive purchase of Gareth Bale all contributed to Ancelotti missing out on the Chilean in the summer transfer window.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Spain's big two are monitoring Vidal's situation – the Italian giants want to keep Paul Pogba at all costs , as he is one of their most influential midfielders, and they will be willing to sell the Chilean international.

Ancelotti was recently spotted talking to Juventus director Beppe Moratta in the Spanish capital. However, the Italian manager was quick to deny the meeting had anything to do with a future offer for Vidal.

"He came to see the sports centre," Ancelotti told La Stampa, Goal.com reported, after he and Marotta were photographed at Real Madrid's training ground.

"In midfield we won't take anyone. We don't need anyone and [Sami] Khedira will return."

But according to Spanish reports, Chelsea are back in for Khedira with Jose Mourinho said to be keen on bringing his former central midfielder to Stamford Bridge in the summer, as the Portuguese regarded the German as one of his key players at Real.

Ancelotti might make a bid for Vidal during the coming close season by including Arsenal target Alvaro Morata as makeweight in the deal – Inter Milan are reportedly poised to win the race for the rising star though.
