Arsenal and Chelsea target Sami Khedira is reportedly set for a move away from Real Madrid after showdown talks with boss Carlo Ancelotti.

According to the Mirror, the German international's agents are set to fly down to London this week to hold talks with both clubs over a move to either the Emirates Stadium or Stamford Bridge.

It is believed that, Khedira is keen on a move away from the club after realizing that he is no longer part of the first team plans, which was made clear when he was left out of the Real team that faced Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup.

The report claims that the player was willing to run down the final-year of his contract and leave the club on a free next summer, but after talks with his manager it was decided that he will be sold this summer.

The 27 year-old midfielder's agents have reportedly held talks with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and are now in the English capital to negotiate with the two interested Premier League clubs.

The reigning European champions have slashed down the asking price for the midfielder in order to offload him this summer and earlier reports suggested that the asking price was £8m, but the current report puts the asking price at £12m.

Arsene Wenger has been a keen admirer of the player and sees him as the perfect long-term replacement for current skipper Mikel Arteta.

Even though the Frenchman has denied interest in the German international, recent claims suggest that they will make a move should the player become available for a reasonable price and also Khedira will need to drop his high wage demands to complete the move.

However, it is believed that Jose Mourinho is leading the race to snap up Khedira should the German leave the Spanish capital. Apart from knowing him from his time as Real manager, it is said that Khedira himself is a big fan of the Portuguese boss.
