Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen on signing Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj as the club has made strengthening its midfield a top summer priority.

The Belgian international - whose strong emergence has been one of the only bright spots in United's disappointing season - has enjoyed a remarkable first campaign at Old Trafford, but there was concern over his long-term future at the club when it emerged he only had one year remaining on his contract at the start of the season.

According to The Mirror, Los Blancos are keen on Januzaj to add bite to the midfield, and it is thought Real would be willing to offer as much as £33m to get the winger – who is currently on World Cup duty in Brazil.

Even though his opportunities during the second-half of the campaign have been limited following Juan Mata's arrival, he started 14 Premier League games during his first season in the top flight, scoring four goals, including a brace on his full debut against Sunderland last October.

The 19-year-old's superb performances last season has even caught the eyes of many European clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City – but he has decided to commit his long-term future to the club by renewing his contract until June 2018.

Januzaj recently revealed he was trying to emulate Cristiano Ronaldo by working hard in the gym and watching the Real Madrid star's games.
