Barcelona face a mountainous task against archrivals Real Madrid in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup at the Santiago Bernabeu on 16 August.

Late goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Marco Asensio in the first leg at the Nou Camp dealt a severe blow to the Catalan giants' hopes of winning the Super Cup for a record 13th time in their history. The visitors must score twice and not concede to overturn their 3-1 deficit from the first leg.

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde remains without the injured Andres Iniesta, who sat out training on 15 August due to a thigh problem.

The Catalan club completed the signing of Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande earlier this week, but the Brazilian midfielder will not feature at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid were angered by a controversial red card shown to Ronaldo in the first leg at the Nou Camp, with the forward subsequently banned for five matches for pushing the referee.

Meanwhile, Luka Modric returns from suspension, but Jesus Vallejo misses out through injury.
