A 7.0 magnitude earthquake has hit Papua New Guinea in Indonesia, where Prime Minister David Cameron is visiting Google Maps

A major 7.0 magnitude earthquake has hit Irian Jaya on the Indonesian island of Papua New Guinea, though there are no reports of injuries. The quake occurred at a depth of 33 miles 145 miles from the city of Abepura. Due to its epicentre being in the middle of the island no tsunami was reported.

Prime minister David Cameron is currently in Indonesia on official business but as he is thousands of miles away in Jakarta he's not believed to be in any danger.
