A never-before-seen wax figure of Rihanna was unveiled on Thursday (July 11) at New York tattoo parlour, Sacred Tattoo.

The statue, positioned in one of Rihanna's famous poses, is dressed in a costume from her "Diamonds" World Tour, custom-made by designer Adam Selman.

The replica took four months to complete with a team of 20 perfecting the singer's hair colour, facial features and her array of body art.

Six tattoos can be seen on the statue, from her ear to her fingers and hands.

This is the global super star's eighth figure at Madame Tussauds and will be on permanent display at the attraction's New York location.

"This one's different. She's designed in an outfit that she wore on her Diamonds World Tour. And she's updated in her most recent look. So she's obviously very new to New York. Very excited to have her. She's a great addition to the music space and our fans love her," said Stacy MacGregor, head of marketing for Madame Tussauds in New York.
