Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is reportedly plotting a £42m deal to prise Colombian star striker Radamel Falcao away from Atletico Madrid, during the summer transfer window, according to a Sun report.

Mancini is believed to be looking for a replacement for Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, who seems to have fallen out with his manager and could leave in the summer.

Falcao has had an impressive debut season in Spain, having scored 25 times in 36 games. Mancini will certainly be going all out to bring the Colombian to England, if he can keep up that average until the end of the season.

Apparently City officials have already had talks with Jorge Mendes (Falcao's advisor) over a possible transfer.

Falcao, who transferred from Porto to Atletico for a fee of £34m is reportedly eager to move to the Premier League.
