Everton boss, Roberto Martinez confirmed that Aaron Lennon is in fact happy with his new club, despite pictures suggesting otherwise.

Martinez joked that the photographer that took Lennon's photos on his first day will not be used again.

Social media sites went into overdrive when Everton posted pictures of their new arrival who signed on loan from Tottenham on transfer deadline day.

But Martinez saw the funny side at his press conference ahead of Saturday's Premier League Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, claiming the club will not use photographer Peter Byrne.

"He has put a smile on the faces of everyone even if we couldn't manage to get a smile in his picture."

He added that Lennon was "happy" to be on Merseyside and jokingly added that he is likely to "change the photographer".

"He is very happy - I would blame the photographer because it is their job to make him produce a nice smile!" said Martinez.

"But I saw a different face - a focused face, of someone who is ready to train and to perform."

2It has been great to see the way Aaron has adjusted, because when you sign a player in January, it is very difficult to find someone who is up to speed with the league and their match fitness."

"He is fully fit and ready to make an impact as part of the squad for the weekend," he said.
