A 22-year-old Brazilian man was arrested on 1 April, after footage of him throwing a rock at the head of a 61-year-old man, knocking him unconscious, was passed to police, Brazilian media reported.

The incident occurred on 31 March in Campo Grande, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, according to Globo, who identified the victim as Paulo Tarso Diogo do Amara. He was quoted as saying that he was knocked out by the blow, and was bleeding heavily when he woke up.

The footage shows the attacker, named by Midiamedia as Igor Eduardo Silva Taques, passing the victim on the sidewalk of Avenida Coronel Antonino, a central thoroughfare in Campo Grande. He then turns and throws a rock, striking the back of the victim's head, and knocking him to the ground.
