Federer, a former world number one, is looking for his first Grand Slam singles title since his victory at Wimbledon in 2013 and his second French Open title.
The Swiss maestro cruised through his second round match with Marcel Granollers and will now take on 88th ranked Damir Dzumhur, who beat a higher ranked player in Marcos Baghdatis in the second round in four sets.
This is the first time the duo are facing each other, as they have never met on the ATP Tour. This is the second appearance for Dzumhur at Roland Garros, and his best performance following a first round exit last year.
