Overview

Swiss great Roger Federer comes into his eleventh Wimbledon semi-final after going past Marin Cilic 6-7, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 in a five-set thriller on 6 June.

The seven-time Wimbledon champion will be expected to put in a much better performance against Raonic, but what was a positive is that his body did hold up and questions about whether his back, knees and energy levels would hold up have been put to rest.

The former world number one is yet to lose a semi-final clash at SW19 and with no Djokovic waiting in the final, he will know that chances to win his 18th Grand Slam title have never been better. Federer definitely comes into this clash as the favourite.

Milos Raonic

Ranked number seven in the world, Milos Raonic played probably the best game of his career beating American Sam Querrey 6-4, 7-5, 5-7, 6-4 to progress to the semi-final. The Canadian possesses all the weapons on court to be successful and certainly has the work ethic and ambition to become one of the best in the world.

His temporary coaching partnership with tennis legend John McEnroe seems to be working, with Raonic reaching the final of the Queen's Club event while also reaching the semi-final stage for the first time here.

The 25-year-old has beaten Federer twice in the past and will be looking for a repeat here. If he plays to his potential he certainly can upset the Swiss player.
