Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5110

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has received XXBLH4 Android 4.0.4 official firmware a month ago in September. And now a complete root method is made available for the device. The method explains the process of rooting using ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery. IBTimes UK will not be held responsible for any damages to your devices during the process.

To do list:

  • Ensure that you have installed the USB drivers for your Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
  • Enable USB debugging mode by navigating to Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and enable the USB debugging
  • Check whether your phone's battery has a charge of at least 80 per cent
  • Backup all your data
  • Finally, make sure that your tablet is factory unlocked

Points to remember:

  • This method is compatible only with Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and not any other variants
  • CWM recovery should be installed
  • An external SD card is required since CWM recovery will not recognise internal storage

Root XXBLH4 Android 4.0.4 on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1:

  • Install CWM Recovery on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
  • Download Root package to your computer
  • Connect and mount your device USB memory on your computer via USB cable
  • Copy the downloaded zip file to your SD card
  • Turn off the tablet and unplug from USB cable
  • Enter in Recovery mode ( to do so, switch on the device, while press and hold Volume Down + Power buttons)
  • Scroll to flash zip from SD card and press the Power button
  • Once again press the Power button and select choose zip from sdcard
  • Navigate to and select the zip file. Confirm the installation by tapping on Yes
  • Now go to +++++Go Back and reboot the device by choosing reboot system now

Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 should now be rooted on XXBLH4 4.0.4 ICS firmware.
