Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has revealed that Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt wants to join Feyenoord this summer, with the Ivory Coast international intent on joining him in the near future.

Kuyt has been linked with a move away from Anfield at the end of the season, and with just a year remaining on his current contract his former side Feyenoord among those reportedly interested.

And according to Kalou, who is out of contract at The Blues this summer, a return to Eredivisie appeals to the 31-year-old.

"For me Feyenoord is No. 1. I want to stay another few years here. After that Feyenoord is an option." he said on Dutch television show Nieuwsuur.

"Dirk told me he wants to return now. Dirk said to me that I also must come, that we both have to return to Feyenoord."

Dirk Kuyt and Salomon Kalou
Kuyt and Kalou could both move back to Feyenoord.

The Dutch international has been a loyal servant for Liverpool since joining the club in 2007 and scored in their Carling Cup final win over Cardiff City in February.

The restriction of Kuyt's appearances this season has been down to the signings last January of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in attack, and the summer additions of Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing in midfield.

After netting just five goals this season, Kuyt appears to be looking to move on, with his former side providing him with an exit route from Liverpool this summer.

The future of Kalou has not been cleared up either, with Chelsea yet to offer a new deal to the attacker, who has played a pivotal role in the club's run in the Champions League, scoring in the quarter-final first leg against Benfica.

Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda are among those likely to leave Chelsea this summer, with the further departure of Kalou leaving a substantial hole in the club's squad.

Both Kalou and Kuyt are set to collide in next month's FA Cup final when Chelsea meet Liverpool at Wembley.
