Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus are expected to be launched on 13 August Reuters

Technology giant Samsung, which has an "Unpacked" event scheduled for 13 August in New York City, is widely expected to launch the next-gen Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus.

But a lack of technical specifications of the high-end smartphones had raised questions about the actual launch of the phones.

Now, Chinese technology portal Antutu has come up with probable technical specifications of both the Galaxy Note5 and S6 Edge. The report also backs reports that both phones will be launched on 13 August. As per Antutu (translated), the smartphones feature key technical specs such as:

Galaxy Note 5

  • 5.7in 2K resolution display, with density of 560 DPI
  • Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) operating system
  • Samsung Exynos 7420 processor
  • 16 MP rear camera
  • 5 MP front camera
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB fixed internal storage
  • LTE, HSPA, GSM, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 2.0 and microUSB connectivity

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

  • 5.5in 2K resolution display, with density of 560 DPI
  • Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) operating system
  • SamsungExynos 7420 processor
  • 16 MP rear camera
  • 5 MP front camera
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB fixed internal storage
  • LTE, HSPA, GSM, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 2.0 and microUSB connectivity

Earlier reports have hinted at the Galaxy Note 5 featuring an auto-ejecting S-Pen.

A report published in The Korea Herald hinted that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus would be launched globally, while the Galaxy Note 5 may be launched only in South Korea and the US, traditionally Samsung's strongest markets.

Recently, Samsung reduced prices of the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge in Europe.
