Samsung Omnia M will be available soon in the UK Samsung

Following the Galaxy S smartphone which is scheduled for the UK market release on 30 May, Samsung has announced the launch of Omnia M, a Windows phone, which the company claims, is an ideal smartphone for social and entertainment multi-taskers.

The Samsung Omnia M boasts a stunning design and is powered by 1 GHz processor and features a 4in Super AMOLED display. The smartphone allows users to download Samsung's cloud-based family network through which users can share family messages, videos and photo slide-shows with other Samsung devices. Users can also avail of ChatON communication service as well which allows for group chatting and messaging that includes text, animation and images.

"Mobile consumers increasingly carry and share a large part of their lives through their phones. They are looking for phones that combine individual style with the ability to consume and share all kinds of content across their ever-growing social networks. The Omnia M meets all these demands, with the enhancement performance and social options offered by Windows phone and Samsung services," said J K Shin, president of IT and Mobile Communications Division.

The Omnia M packs many interesting features that include Samsung AllShare through which users can play films, games or any other media direct from Omnia M phone to a television. Furthermore the Windows Live SkyDrive offers 25GB of free online storage space. The phone incorporates the company's integrated video-call feature that allows instant video chats using the front-facing camera. The phone will be available in Europe soon.

Features

Display- The Omnia M features a 4in Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 800pixels and a pixel density of 233 pixels per inch

Dimension- The handset measures 121.6 x 64.1 x 10.5mm in thickness and weighs 119g.

Operating System- The smartphone will run on Windows phone 7.5 Mango operating system.

Processor-The smartphone will be powered by 1GHz processor and houses 384MB of RAM.

Camera-The handset sports a primary camera of five megapixel with a resolution of 2592 x 1944pixels. The camera features auto-focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, image stabilisation and also can capture VGA quality video at 30 frames per second. The Omnia also packs a VGA quality front-facing camera.

Connectivity-The smartphone offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2DP.

Storage- The handset offers internal storage space of 4GB but it does not support microSD card.

Battery-The Omnia M is powered with a Li-ion battery with a capacity of 1500mAh.
