Samsung on Friday (14 April) announced the release of three new watchfaces – Outdoor, Travel and Sports – for the Gear S3 smartwatch. They are available to download from the Gear App Store.

The Outdoor watchface offers a selection of functions to assist Gear S3 users with the weather-related details. It includes an altimeter at three o'clock, a barometer at nine, a date and weather indicator at six, and also sunrise or sunset display over the screen. If you tap once on an indication, it will access the app, double-tapping on an indication will let you customise the settings related to display.

This watchface also features a night mode in multiple colour options so that users can customise the screen accordingly.

Samsung's Travel watchface packs a host of features to help travellers to manage their trips. It has customisable dual-time indication that allows you to monitor time and temperature.

You can keep a track of the distance travelled through My Journey indication at six o'clock. Tapping on it will open a detailed map that will help you navigate in and around a place.

Samsung's Sport watchface is meant for, as its name suggests, for sportspersons. It features a stopwatch at three o'clock and a speedometer at nine, and the side-by-side displays showing user's heart rate and calories burned. The watchface also offers access to My Journey at the bottom of the screen, helping users map out their runs and rides. Both Outdoor and Sports watchface features a built-in alert function to assisting users to track their exertion and exercise.
