Samuel Eto'o is reportedly keen on moving to Arsenal in the summer to take revenge on Jose Mourinho for his comments on his age, according to the Daily Mirror.

The striker was signed on a one-year contract last summer but failed to get into the good books of Mourinho as the Portuguese man criticised him for his profligacy in front of goal and quipped about his age.

Eto'o was hurt by the comments and his agents have alerted Arsenal that the striker wants to move to the Emirates with the intention of hurting Mourinho's title ambitions next season.

The Gunners are in the market for a striker and are keeping a close eye on Real Madrid frontman Alvaro Morata and Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy as backup for Olivier Giroud.

However, Eto'o on a free transfer may add a lot of value to their squad, especially with the experience he brings into the team with his stint at Inter Milan and Barcelona.

Chelsea reportedly wanted to extend Eto'o's contract but the striker refused to succumb and is now a free agent with lucrative offers from the MLS and the Middle East.

The striker wants to live in London and Arsenal's search for a quality striker has given him the incentive to make one more attempt at extending his stay in the Premier League.

Eto'o has scored nine goals in the league this season in 21 appearances, including a hattrick against Manchester United and was the most prolific among the three Chelsea strikers.

Mourinho has made signing a striker his first priority in the summer and is closing in on a move for Atletico Madrid frontman Diego Costa in the summer.

Fernando Torres and Demba Ba are the other two Chelsea strikers who are also expected to make their way out of the club in the upcoming window.
