Scandal season 5's winter finale is expected to feature some major drama between Olivia, Fitz and Rowan Pope. After helping her father escape prison, in order to save Grant from the impeachment process, the White House crisis manager has opened the doors for more trouble for her loved ones and her father whom she hates.
In the previous episode, Rowan tells his daughter that there is another player at work who is trying to kill him and his daughter. The promo of the winter finale shows Huck has kidnapped the former B613 boss.
"There's no gratitude in parenting. I don't know why we do it. Have you seen Javi recently? No? Do you think he misses you? Or do you think he's happier now that he knows that his insane shell of a human father is out of the picture again?" Papa Pope tells his former agent while trying to frustrate him in the name of his family.
"One could argue that Javi is better off being parented by one of the random men who have run in and out of the house over the years," he continues. As a result, Huck loses his cool and tries to strangulate his former boss.
It will be interesting if he succeeds in killing Pope as fans are very well aware of the Shonda Rhimes style of cliffhanger endings. Chances are high that Liv's father's ultimate fate will be revealed during the summer premiere.
Olivia, on the other hand, will start taking the responsibilities of the First Lady as Fitz accepts his relationship with her but she finds it awkward. Mellie, on the other hand, is still reeling with the rejection and will show her mettle in the upcoming episode.
The official synopsis of the upcoming episode reads: Olivia is feeling more and more frustrated as she takes on "First Lady" type responsibilities at the White House. Meanwhile, Mellie proves just how powerful she can be and Jake and Huck continue the hunt for Rowan.
