Friends and family of a 13-year-old who died of a heart attack in Renfrewshire have paid tribute to the "beautiful, amazing and funny" girl.

Caitlin Gray was rushed to hospital in early March after she had a cardiac arrest in the bath. She died a week later in a hospital in Paisley. She had shown no previous signs of ill-health.

Her mum, Angela said: "We don't know what happened. She was just loved by her pals and loved by her family.

"I've been in contact with her friends daily. Her friends and their parents have been amazing. We are all quite a close group of people."

A commemorative Tumblr post has been put up by Gray's best friend, Megan. It read: "You're beautiful, amazing, funny and I will never forget your beautiful smile and never forget that you will always be in our hearts.

"You were too good to go but you're in a better place now and we all have to accept that. We will always know that you are looking down on us every minute of every day.

"And your family are being really strong and brave about this and we all know they are hurting but I think them remembering all the good times is helping them too.

"All your friends miss you too and are hurting but trying to not get really upset but it's hard because you were one of my best friends.

"To be honest, I don't know what I'm going to do without you.

"I just miss seeing you laugh and seeing you every day."

Gray's passion was in music. She played the viola in her school's symphony orchestra.

"She loved bands, All Time Low, You Me at Six, Green Day. She had tickets to see Blink 182 in June," her mum added.

She was commended by her head teacher for her talent, popularity and intellect.
