Seth Rogen, Bill Hader and The Hangover's Zach Galifianakis are three of Hollywood's funniest men these days and what better way to utilise each of the comedic talents than by combining them as a unit. The trio will get to do just that in upcoming sci-fi comedy The Something.

The movie will follow a group of astronauts, who, after being stuck in space for years, come upon another ship. Think Ridley Scott's The Martian but unlike the confusion surrounding that film's odd Golden Globe nomination under best musical or comedy, this one is definitely based in humour. Not only are Rogen, Hader and Galifianakis hot property in the industry right now, but the subject of space seems to be too, what with Gravity, Interstellar and a little film called Star Wars: The Force Awakens being released over the last couple of years.

The film has been written by screenwriter Rodney Rothman, whose best-known works include 22 Jump Street and Grudge Match, starring Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro. He has also acted as producer on films such as The Five Year Engagement, Year One and Get Him To The Greek. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rothman will also direct The Something, which will mark his directorial debut.

Universal Studios are already said to be backing the film, with Rogen also producing. He will do so alongside childhood friend and business partner Evan Goldberg under their company Point Grey Pictures. They will also be working with Good Universe, who they've previous have found success with titles 50/50, This Is The End and Bad Neighbours.

It's safe to say, anything that these three actors do together is well worth keeping an eye on, but before The Something lands Rogen will be seen in follow-up movie Bad Neighbours 2 opposite Rose Byrne and Zac Efron and lending his voice once again to the third movie in the Kung Fu Panda series. Hader is currently filming The Angry Birds movie, while Galifianakis has just completed production on romance drama Tulip Fever with Christoph Waltz and Alicia Vikander.
