Bollywood's current poster boy Ranbir Kapoor recently refused an offer to act with Shahrukh Khan, that too in a film to be directed by the man with the Midas touch, Karan Johar. And that has reportedly not gone down too well with the filmmaker.

According to rumour mills, Kapoor was supposed to do a film produced by Karan Johar, co-starring Parineeti Chopra and titled Mr. and Mrs. Tapori. But now, Johar seems to be having second thoughts about his main lead.

Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar are two names which, individually and as a pair, always set the box office cash registers ringing. Johar is known for his opulent, high-on-drama sure-fire hits and is on the work wish-list of every actor in the tinsel town. Shahrukh khan, with his mega fan following and his recent, super successful Chennai Express, is currently (once again) the toast of the town. Directors and producers are queuing up to sign him for their next project as everyone knows having Khan in the film will guarantee huge returns.

Amidst all this, Ranbir Kapoor who till recently was on an all-time professional high himself, (his films, Rockstar, Barfi and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani were super hits), was unfortunately a victim of the law of averages as his last big release, Besharam, failed miserably at the box office. In such a scenario, doing a film with industry stalwarts like Khan and Johar would essentially be the right move.

According to a report in Mid-Day, Ranbir refused the film as he did not want to be a part of two-hero project. The report further says that after delivering three super-hit films, Ranbir believes that he can carry a movie on his own shoulders, and does not need support of other male actors.

Also, another reason for Kapoor's refusal could be that in the past all of Johar's multi-starrers have clearly had Shahrukh Khan in the spotlight. For example, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham had Khan as the main lead with more prominence whereas other heavyweight actor, Hrithik Roshan, was reduced as a supporting character. Same was the case with Johar's subsequent releases, namely Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, with Bachchan Jr. and Kal Ho Na Ho with Saif Ali Khan.

Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy with his other films like with Bombay Velvet, Jagga Jasoos and Roy.
