Shahrukh Khan fans who want to see the commercial superstar play an offbeat and different role, might not have to wait much longer.

Reportedly, SRK had a meeting with new-age film director Anurag Kashyap (Dev D, Gangs of Wasseypur) and as per rumours, they met to discuss a future film collaboration.

"Reports were doing rounds that they met to discuss Kashyap's much-delayed venture Alwyn Kalicharan. Shah Rukh and Anurag met at the former's residence and in London too," states a Bollywood Life report.

So how much truth is there in these rumours? Kashway weighed in saying, "I've met Shah Rukh regarding my cameo in Happy New Year (director Farah Khan's upcoming movie; HNY) and not for any film offer."

The Dev D director added, "How many films am I supposed to make at one time? Let me first finish my current one. Then, I will think of other projects."

Even though Kashyap has denied the rumours of working with the Chennai Express star on a film, industry insiders believe that it is just a matter of time before the two join hands.

As per earlier reports, the film Alwyn Kalicharan, a dark and edgy detective drama, was first offered to SRK but for unknown reasons, the actor could not take it up. The film was then also offered to Anil Kapoor and even went through a look test.

Anurag Kashyap is currently busy with the Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer Bombay Velvet and with his TV series, which stars Amitabh Bachchan.
