Shannon Beador recalls the moment when her marriage with husband David was over
Shannon and David were married for 17 years before calling it quits in September.
The Real Housewives Of Orange County star Shannon Beador, who separated from David Beador in September, recalled the exact moment her husband David asked to end their relationship. She made the revelations during the reality TV show's season 12 reunion episode that aired on Monday, 20 November.
Shannon shared the painful moment with host Andy Cohen, explaining, "We went on a trip to Hawaii which I kind of hoped would bring us back together, but he left the trip early. And when I came home, he said, 'We're done'.
"I said to David when he told me it was over, 'What happened? We had a couple of amazing years.' And he goes, 'We had a couple of good months.' It was just a knife in the heart," a tearful Shannon said.
Although the separation did take her by surprise, Shannon said that she was aware of their marital troubles from before. "I did have a conversation with him at the beginning of the summer that I just couldn't keep living this way. For months, he lived in the separate end of the house. It was like I was living with a stranger," the reality star added.
The couple, who had been married for 17 years and share three daughters together – Sophie, 15, and twins Stella and Adeline, 12, have had their share of marital woes over the years. In RHOC season 10, Shannon revealed that David had an affair, but the couple got back on track and even renewed their vows in a surprise ceremony.
However, Shannon acknowledged that she never got over David's affair. "When you're happy, I kept trying to convince myself, 'You're the happiest you've ever been, so it's all okay about the affair. And [his affair was] not okay.
"It's just very difficult to go from the highest of the highs that you can even imagine. Now I know what a good marriage is supposed to be, I know what it's like when someone looks at you adoringly and cares, and then all of a sudden when that's taken away?" she told the host.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 12 reunion will air its final part next Monday, 27 November, at 9 pm EST on Bravo TV.
