RBS Share Price - The Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the 'big four' British banks and is the largest bank in Scotland. In Britain and Ireland the RBS has as subsidiaries, The Royal Bank of Scotland, National Westminster Bank, Ulster Bank, Drummonds and Coutts & Co. RBS was hit hard during the financial crisis and needed a substantial government bailout. The government currently holds an 84 per cent stake in RBS. The Group's former CEO, Sir Fred Goodwin, after a largely successful time at the bank, subsequently became the object of much negative press attention due to his receiving a very generous pension despite presiding over the bank during the crisis which saw it part-nationalised.
