Actor and apparent-nutcase Shia LaBeouf reportedly wanted a camera strapped to his penis during the filming of his latest film Nymphomaniac.

"Shia had wanted [director Lars] von Trier to put a camera on his penis while filming, so that audiences could have the full experience," an insider told the New York Post.

The film follows Charlotte Gainsbourgh as she recounts a life of sexual exploits, and episode of which involves LaBeouf's character Jerome.

At the film's premiere in Berlin last week, LaBeouf wore a paper bag that read "I Am Not Famous Anymore" to promote an contemporary art installation currently running in Los Angeles.

In the piece, called #IAMSORRY, the Transformers' star sits silently in a room wearing the paper bag as visitors enter the room one after the other.

The Post cites a source who says LaBeouf's recent antics are costing him film roles, while another says the weird behaviour is part of an act akin to Joaquin Phoenix's fake decision to quite acting and pursue a career in hip hop.

Phoenix's weird behaviour turned out to be for a mockumentary entitled I'm Still Here.

According to the source "everyone who knows Shia is in on the joke. It's all part of an act".
