Shrien Dewani arrived back in the UK under cover of darkness and was whisked away in a car after landing from South Africa.

Dewani, 34, landed at Gatwick airport and quickly left in a vehicle at around 7am, before sunrise.

The millionaire care home owner travelled first class all the way from South South Africa, via Dubai.

It was his first time in Britain since being extradicted to South Africa to stand trial over the killing of his wife, Anni Dewani.

Dewani denied masterminding her death while the couple were on honeymoon in 2010 in Cape Town.

He was forced to travel to the country despite claiming he was mentally unfit to stand trial, following Anni's death.
