The highly anticipated DLC - Dawnguard - for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is finally here, much to the joy of the frenetic fan community. The RPG has won many accolades ever since its release way back in November 2011.

Skyrim's first DLC was touted to focus on the special abilities of Vampire Lords and true to the fan expectations, Bethesda Studios have come out with a rich array of exciting features to keep the players hooked to the fascinating world of Skyrim. The players get to complete this add-on as part of the single-player campaign donning the role of either a Vampire Lord or a Vampire Hunter.

How to Begin Dawnguard DLC [SPOILERS]

Players with high level of experience starting with level 10 and above can initiate the Dawnguard mission by speaking to the Guard in Skyrim. Any of the guards in Skyrim will reveal rumours about Vampires returning to town, while an elite band specialising in vampire hunting is apparently looking for new recruits.

As soon as the player learns of this information, the Dawnguard DLC quest unlocks with a marker on the map indicating the location of Dawnguard's leader. Head straight to Fort Dawnguard marked on the map crossing the rough terrain through the mountains and then the cave. The fort is apparently located beyond the invisible wall separating Skyrim and Morrowind. The Dawnguard quest begins once the player steps inside the fort walls.

The Storyline

In Dawnguard, the legendary Volkihar vampire, Harkon makes a mysterious comeback with the intent of using the power of Elder Scrolls to plunge Skyrim into eternal darkness. His only objective is to eclipse the Sun from harming his evil powers. As a player you could choose to be the saviour of Skyrim as a vampire hunter and battle the vicious bloodsuckers or serve the Vampire Lord in his campaign for darkness.
