The latest episode of SmackDown Live saw some exciting matches ahead of Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for 20 November. The main card of the event saw Dean Ambrose square off with AJ Styles for the number one contender for the WWE World Championship, while in another Heath Slater and Rhyno fought the Spirit Squad for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin on 25 October.

AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose (1 contender spot for the WWE World Championship)

The match was action packed from the start with James Ellsworth at ringside. The fight came to an end after Ellsworth hit the Phenomenal One with a superkick to the dismay of the Lunatic Fringe. Styles won the fight via disqualification.

Bray Wyatt vs Kane (No Disqualification Match)

Initially, Kane was in control of the match but when the fight proceeded outside the ring, Luke Harper appeared out of nowhere and started to pound on the Big Red Machine. When Harper and The Eater of Worlds were getting ready to end Kane, Randy Orton came out as though to save Kane. Instead, Orton carried out an RKO and then Wyatt hit a lateral press for a win via pinfall.

Heath Slater and Rhyno vs Spirit Squad (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship)

The Beauty and the Man-Beast retained their title with a Gore on Spirit Squad's Mikey.

Hype Bros vs Ascension (Survivor Series Qualifying Match)

Hype Bros fought the Ascension in a Smackdown's team Survivor Series in the ten-team Survivor Series elimination match. Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder won via pinfall with a Hype Ryder on Viktor.

Natalya vs Nikki Bella

Nikki Bella won after she submitted Natalya with an STS. Bella has earned the right to captain SmackDown women's Survivor Series team and ensure Natalya will not be on the team.
