We know Colombian actress Sofia Vergara is one of the hottest women in the world - that delicious accent alone would ensure that - and her presence is probably one of the biggest reasons why American sitcom "Modern Family" is so successful! Amid all that beauty, however, is another very obvious fact - she is an extremely talented actress!

Vergara was on Saturday Night Live (SNL), this weekend, dressed, according to E!Online, in a skin-tight, cleavage-baring bustier dress and her first joke of the evening was a good-humoured dig at her own accent.

"You might have noticed I have a bit of an accent sometimes, I love it. This accent makes anything sound sexy. Listen, 'gonorrhea, New Jersey, Rick Santorum.' So, tonight, please forgive me if you cannot understand what I say, and I will forgive you for staring at my chest the whole night," she told the audience, in all apparent seriousness.

However, the most important (sarcastic?) comment of the night was yet to come. It was about how welcoming the US was to immigrants.

"I always heard that immigrants had a really hard life when they came to America. But when I showed up here, everyone was so nice! The men bought me drinks and offered me a place to sleep. This country welcomed me with open arms and pulled down pants," Vergara was quoted as saying by Fox News.

The audience remained, according to reports, absolutely mesmerised... and not just because it was Sofia Vergara in a skin-tight dress on stage. The actress was in fine form and sizzling from the very first second. According to Fox News, Vergara played a Pantene spokeswoman, impersonated Fran Drescher and parodied the Hunger Games.

For the latter impersonation, she took on the role of a television reporter called Maria Gutierrez, who was broadcasting live from the "74th annual Hunger Games" and interviewed contestants who were either scared to death or near death. For the "The Manuel Ortiz Show", Vergara looked adorable in her blonde wig and for the Pantene Shampoo commercial, she played herself... the normal, sexy way.

The Huffington Post reviewed Vergara's performance saying the one important conclusion that could be taken home was the actress "sure knows to yell". The review, however, was an average 5.58... although it did acknowledge she was talented.

Meanwhile, she was joined on the show by British boy band One Direction, who played "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing".
