Sons of Anarchy show creator Kurt Sutter will soon reveal his plans for the spinoff. FX

After the end of Sons of Anarchy season 7 in December 2014, fans are eagerly waiting for updates on its spin-off series which is still in its pre-production stage. But after remaining silent on the upcoming show for a really long time, Kurt Sutter finally shared some good news on Twitter. He practically confirmed the Mayans MC series.

Though the showcreator did not reveal any news on the show's plot or cast, he posted a picture of Marcus Alvarez and his Mayan gang and asked his 560,000 followers if they were ready for the show. "Are you ready for this? #MayansMC," Sutter captioned the image.

The creator of the Bastard Executioner has been working on the new show's plot since months and almost confirmed that the Mayan spinoff will be based on Marcus Alvarez. Sutter is constantly sharing pictures of the MMC leader (played by Emilio Rivera) on the microblogging site hinting at the character's major role in the upcoming show.

While the plot of the highly anticipated SOA spinoff series is still unknown, FX has previously said that it "will be a dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American of icons, the 1 percent outlaw, this time, reflected through a Latino lens".

In Sons of Anarchy, the Oakland, California-based outlawed the motorcycle gang – Mayans Motorcycle Club. Known for his ruthlessness, Marcus' portrayal will be interesting to watch. Sutter's fans very well know about his love for bloodshed in his shows and Mayan MC may be no different.

The character can be in stark contrast to Jax, who was a tough leader but a loving family man. Marcus, on the other hand never hesitated to kill his own son when he failed to fulfill a drug deal.

FX is yet to announce the cast and premiere updates of the SOA spinoff series.
