Overview

South Africa come into this fixture after registering a victory over Afghanistan in the last fixture. Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis's knock of 45 and 41 respectively, followed by a quick 64 off 29 balls by AB de Villiers helped the Proteas post a mammoth total of 209 runs.

Afghanistan were given a good start by their top order batsmen. However, wickets fell at regular intervals and they were unable to keep up the momentum, which resulted in a 37-run victory for South Africa. Chris Morris was the star bowler for his side as his figures of 4/27 was crucial in helping Du Plessis' side seal their first win of the tournament.

West Indies are leading the Group 1 table after two victories and they have four points after two matches. Sri Lanka struggled in their second match against West Indies after the Lankan batting order collapsed in quick succession. Thisara Perera's contribution of 40 runs helped them reach a total of 122 runs.

West Indies had no trouble in chasing the target as they sealed a seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka with less than two overs to spare. A defeat for South Africa on Friday is likely to end their T20 World Cup campaign.
