Overview

Sri Lanka are on the verge of registering a series victory over England after the hosts took a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series by winning the second match in Colombo over the weekend.

Alastair Cook won the toss and decided to bat first and the Three Lions' skipper's decision did not go according to plan. The visitors were bowled out for 185 as over half the score came from Joe Root (42) and Ravi Bopara (51).

After a whitewash at the hands of India, the back-to-back victories over England will only bring joy to the Lankans. Angelo Mathews and his men will make sure they would hope to replicate what the World Champions did to them against England.

A defeat for the English side on Wednesday will see them suffer a series defeat with two games to spare. A win would keep their hopes of winning the series alive.

Betting Odds (bwin)

  • Sri Lanka to win: 1/2
  • England to win: 17/11
