The teenage victim of a stabbing attack in St Albans, Hertfordshire has been named as Emill Stapleton, also known as Millz. The 19-year-old was attacked at around 3.20am on Saturday (24 October). He was rushed to Watford General Hospital following the city centre confrontation, where he later died.

His friends set up a fundraising page to pay for the funeral, which has so far raised over £3,000 - far more than its £1,000 target. The page was set up by Marky Russell, who wrote: "We thought it would be nice to send Millz off in style, we are raising a little sum just to help the family give him the service he deserves." A Facebook group commemorating the teen's memory has also been set up.

Nine people, including teenage girls aged 16 and 17, were arrested in the early hours of Saturday. Hertfordshire Police detectives are appealing for witnesses and information connected to the incident. Police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

According to a police statement, those arrested are a 27-year-old woman, 29-year-old man, 28 year-old man, 24 year-old man, 22 year-old woman, 25-year-old man, 26 year-old man, 17-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl.

Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins from the Major Crime Unit said: "I am appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. This occurred in the early hours of the morning and was likely to have attracted attention of anyone in the immediate area.

"If you saw or heard anything that may be connected, or if you have information about the incident, please contact the police as soon as possible. Please call me via the non-emergency number 101."
