It has been a busy few days for Star Wars fans, with a ton of news coming out of this year's Star Wars Celebration fan convention in London. There were announcements regarding the movies, TV shows and, of course, the games, including plenty of new information about EA DICE shooter Star Wars Battlefront.

The biggest announcement (rounded up in an official blog post) was that the fourth and final expansion will be based on upcoming film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and will be set on one of the new planets being introduced in the movie.

That expansion will be released in December around the time Rogue One is released in cinemas on 16 December. Like each expansion to date, it will be made available to season pass holders two weeks before it is sold to all users.

We also learned more about the third and next expansion, which will finally take Battlefront players to the iconic Death Star.

Due in September, the teaser trailer embedded below, confirms aerial space combat around the Imperial battle station (and in its iconic trench of course). Art for the expansion also teases a map in an asteroid field like the one seen in Empire Strikes Back.

The first two playable characters were announced too. They will be bounty hunter Bossk and Chewbacca, whose inclusion has been requested by fans since the game first launched last November. Back in April DICE stated that each of the two remaining expansions would have two new playable heroes and two new villains apiece – so there's more to come.

The Rogue One expansion will take place on Scarif – a new planet in the Star Wars universe with a tropical climate which can be seen on the movie's new poster. It is one of the two new planets being introduced in director Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spin-off – the other being Jedha, described as like "the Mecca of Star Wars".

Each new expansion will add new maps, weapons, star cards and possibly new game modes.
