Star Wars
First standalone Star Wars film writer replaced LucasFilm.com

Star Wars fans were in for a surprise when the next sequel along with a standalone spinoff was declared by Disney.

The first spinoff movie of the popular franchise is titled Rough One and will star British actress Felicity Johns as one of the lead cast.

Disney also released the first concept art for the movie and Stitch Kingdom thinks the image is inspired by video games.

"My personal take on it was it evoked concept art of a video game. It personally screamed Halo to me. It was very dark and done in greens, so it evoked the idea that it was being done under the cloak of night. Dozens of figures in fatigues appeared to be storming something with a strange helicopterish vehicle (open on the sides) in the background, releasing more troops," the website's concept art description reads.

Slash Film has compiled a series of descriptions about the concept art saying "it was a gritty dark/gray image. Very dark and done in greens, so it evoked the idea that it was being done under the cloak of night."

The website also speculated about the plot of the movie. "The film would follow a group of bounty hunters who were hired to pull off a heist to steal the plans for the Death Star — think Seven Samurai or Suicide Squad meets Ocean's Eleven in the world of Star Wars."

The highly anticipated movie will reportedly highlight Han Solo and Boba Fett's family.

Disney revealed nothing about the plot of the movie in its statement. However, it said that the idea of the movie came from John Knoll, an Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor and chief creative officer at Industrial Light & Magic.

The movie will start shooting in London this summer and is slated to be released on 16 December 2016.
