Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
What's the story behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice logo in I Am Legend? Warner Bros

Batman v Superman was announced in 2013, yet a version of the film's logo was seen on the big screen much before in the 2007 Will Smith starrer I Am Legend.

Though this particular Easter egg is not a new discovery, fans have often wondered how and why the logo appeared there. Well, during a recent interview, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 director Francis Lawrence finally revealed the story behind it.

Lawrence told Collider the reason that it was there is that the producer and writer of I Am Legend, Akiva Goldsman, actually wrote an early draft of a Batman and Superman movie.

However, the movie never got made as the script wound up getting dropped, and Christopher Nolan launched his trilogy of Batman movies instead.

Lawrence and Goldsman decided to include the Batman and Superman logo as a fun idea of what movies would have been released around that time in the future.
