Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone has reportedly been cast as the female lead for South Indian superstar Rajinikanth's latest film "Kochadaiyaan".
The announcement was confirmed by Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya.
"Guys. Deepika padukone confirmed to play appa's ("appa" translates as "father") pair in Kochadaiyaan :) great to have you back with us @deepikapadukone :):) big hug!", read the tweet from Soundarya.
The news is doubly exciting because Deepika had earlier been cast in "Rana", an earlier film which was shelved after Rajinikanth fell ill.
The new film will be directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and produced by Eros International. The soundtrack will be written by A.R.Rahman. Other case members will reportedly include another Bollywood star - Jackie Shroff, and Tamil actor Sarath Kumar.
Incidentally, the film will make use of the popular 3D technology.
Meanwhile, the first look poster for the film has been released!
