Overview

League leaders Chelsea travel to Wales to take on Swansea City on Saturday. The hosts will have to cope without their main striker Wilfried Bony, who they sold to Manchester City recently to aid their fight for the Premier League title against the Blues.

Garry Monk will most likely name the same starting XI that drew 1-1 against West Ham United last weekend as he still has key players missing from the squad. Winger Jefferson Montero is out with injury and midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is suspended.

The south Wales club have beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a League Cup clash in 2013, and Gary Monk will hope his players can come away with a positive result when they take on the title favourites on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have gotten over their minor blip that saw them draw and lose a game in recent weeks by beating Newcastle United last time around. They have also managed to build a two-point lead over Manchester City after the defending champions could only muster a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park last weekend.

Jose Mourinho has a fully fit squad to choose from apart from his favourite defender Cezar Azpilicueta, who is nursing a groin injury. Thibaut Courtois is a doubt as the goalkeeper is just recovering from a broken thumb.

The Blues boss will be keen to get the three points and put pressure on Manuel Pellegrini's team, who face Arsenal on Sunday. A win for both the London teams will see Chelsea open up a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

What Managers Say

Gary Monk: It's a really good challenge for us. I think they're an exceptional team, one of the best in Europe. It's a challenge for my players and it's a challenge for myself to really try and put on a performance and hopefully we can warrant a good result."

Jose Mourinho: "I don't think the big boys feel too much pressure. We are big boys, they are big boys. It does not affect us a lot, the result of the other one. We both have jobs to do. [Whatever] the result of the other one, we have to try to win matches. If you can get points tomorrow, don't think that affects the City game."
