Taylor Swift dating life: Red singer feels being called boy crazy is public humiliation

American singer/songwriter Taylor Swift reportedly feels humiliated when her past relationships become the target of jokes.

During an interview with Glamour UK magazine, the 25-year-old Shake It Off singer, who is rumoured to be dating Scottish singer/DJ Calvin Harris, admitted that she does not find it easy having a boyfriend.

"There is no easy way for me to engage with romance. I'm really busy, so I can't. And it's a good thing that I feel really independent and I feel that my friends are all I need," she said.

"It's kind of a sad way I got there, though, being shamed into it. What else is it when you have two boyfriends in one year and everyone's calling you boy crazy, making jokes about you at awards shows? That's public humiliation. And I don't think its fair," the Red hitmaker added.

It was previously revealed that Taylor has been single since splitting up with One Direction singer Harry Styles.

The singer, who has a history of dating high-profile celebrities including Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Zac Efron and Conor Kennedy, split with Styles last January, after dating for two months.

Meanwhile, Taylor was awarded with the Milestone award at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards held at AT&T Stadium on 19 April.

At the ceremony, Taylor received a touching tribute from her mother, Andrea Swift, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

"I've watched this milestone artist from the time she was a tangle-haired little girl growing up on our farm, full of imagination and creativity until right now, as she prepares for her next world tour, and ever since then, her favourite thing in the world to do has been to write a song, tell a story, play a guitar, or piano, and I've seen those things carry her through every emotion, every experience in her life, good or bad," she said.

"Now, every once in a while her dad, her brother or I find ourselves to be the subjects of those songs. Sometimes we're merely the inspiration. Like the time she was 17 years old, and her dad and I strongly disapproved of a certain young man, and rightfully so. But she was mad. She was real mad, and she went to her room, and she closed the door, and she came out about an hour later with a song called 'Love Story,'" Andrea added.
