A recent Instagram post shared by Sophie Turner has led to speculations among Taylor Swift's fans that the singer might be playing Dazzler in X-Men: Apocalypse. Rumours about the Blank Space singer making an appearance in the next X-Men movie started doing the rounds in July 2015.

The movie still shared by Turner shows Jean Grey and a young Cyclops, played by Tye Sheridan, holding an album cover titled DAZZLER with the tagline Sounds of Light And Fury. The caption of the photo reads: "#FlashBack Friday to that time Cyclops and I went shopping at the mall and found our favorite singer's album (pre 1989, of course)." The current speculation is based just on Swift having an album that is titled 1989.

Gossip Cop, however, has debunked the rumour. According to the site, Swift's representatives told them that reports about the singer's role in the movie are "not true".

The rumour about the 26-year-old singer playing Dazzler started last July after she was photographed with some of the cast and crew of the movie. The photo was shared on Twitter by the producer of the movie, Simon Kinberg.

Turner, who plays a young Jean Grey, had dismissed the wild speculation in an interview with E!Online. She said: "We just went to her concert and then I guess she wanted to meet us and we really wanted to meet her so we just hung out with her for a bit. Played a couple of drinking games. It was awesome."

The cast of the movie includes Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Oscar Issac (Apocalypse) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) among others.
