A primary school teacher in York has been charged with sex offences against children.

The 31-year-old appeared before magistrates on Friday 15 March, and parents in three primary schools where he worked have been sent letters making them aware of the allegations, reports the BBC.

He is charged with 23 offences, including possessing indecent images, voyeurism, making indecent images, sexual touching and sexual activity with a boy under 13, police said.

North Yorkshire Police said that any parent not yet contacted by them could reasonably assume that their child was not affected by the alleged abuse.
