Stephen Goldring caused £242 worth of damage when he urinated in a aisle of a Tesco store in Swansea Marina.

A man who was caught on CCTV urinating in a Tesco drinks aisle has been sent to prison.

Stephen Goldring was 'caught short' while shopping at the Swansea Marian branch and relieved himself over a £242 stack of cola. The drinks had to be destroyed.

The 36-year-old from Swansea was hauled before a judge after he was caught red-handed on camera with his pants down.

Prosecutor Lisa Jones said: "He pulls down the zip of his trousers and is seen to urinate on the whole display of Coca Cola bottles.

"He then wipes his hands on his trousers and goes back to his friend."

Goldring's defence team blamed his desperation to urinate in the store on his medication. He was on a prescription of sciatica tablets at the time of the incident.

"He found himself caught short and tried to find somewhere obscure to relieve himself."

Goldring, who was on a suspended sentence for driving while disqualified, was jailed for two weeks after admitting criminal damage.
