Arsenal legend Thierry Henry hopes Arsene Wenger will bring some new players to the Emirates Stadium during the current transfer window to follow the "tremendous" addition of Alexis Sanchez last summer.

After some years of austerity with key members of the squad leaving the club, including Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri or Henry himself, the French boss broke the bank in the last two summer transfer windows to sign both Mesut Ozil and Sanchez from Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

Wenger is yet to make any signing ahead of next season but is expected to bolster the squad further with at least a top-scorer, a midfielder and a world-class goalkeeper like Chelsea out-of-favour Petr Cech in order to build a team able to fight for the Premier League title.

Henry has claimed he is excited about the new campaign as he believes that with Sanchez leading the attack and some more new additions the Gunners will be ready to get the target.

"As an Arsenal fan I am very excited about next season and hopefully we can bring some people to the club, some new players maybe but when you have a guy like Alexis Sanchez anything can happen. Hopefully he can fire us to the title next year," Henry said on the club official website.

Henry believes the Chilean international has given Arsenal the "X-factor" after scoring 25 goals and providing 12 assists in his first season at the Emirates Stadium, including an impressive one in the FA Cup final against Aston Villa to help his side to conquer the title for the second year in a row.

"If you're an Arsenal fan, we were all waiting for that type of matchwinner. Look at what he did in the FA Cup final and what he has been doing since his arrival. He has been more than tremendous," the former Arsenal striker added.

"We want to see that more and more and I know that he has that in his locker. When you have a guy like Alexis Sanchez, it is the X-factor,

"He is the guy who can change the course of a game. I love the way he plays, he plays with his heart and I know the fans love that about him."
