She is best known for judging wannabes on Britain Got Talent, but Amanda Holden will soon be showing off her presenting skills on daytime TV.

The 43-year-old star is set to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning.

According to ITV news, Holden will host the show alongside Philip Schofield once pregnant Willoughby goes on maternity leave in September.

Although Schofield had reportedly pushed for his Dancing on Ice sidekick Christine Bleakley for the job, mum-of-two Holden was handpicked for the role due to her popularity with ITV viewers.

"Amanda is a great fit for the This Morning audience," a show insider said.

"Her warmth, charisma and down-to-earth attitude mean viewers relate to her. Like many of them, she is a parent who has been through her own share of heartache."

Willoughby, who normally takes the summer off, is expecting her third child with husband Daniel Baldwin. She hosted her final show with Schofield earlier this week.

It is believed that Holden may co-host the show for up to a year.
