The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy has the perfect answer to the "who will win in a fight between Batman and Superman" question. The actor, who played Batman villain Bane, said he would take down both of DC's iconic superheroes single-handedly!
"Somebody asked me, who would I want to win out in a fight between Superman and Batman," Hardy told MTV.,"and I would like to hold the pair of them under the water until the bubbles stop." Hardy portrayed the classic Batman villain in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, where he did battle with Christian Bale's Batman.
The Legend actor also revealed that he would love to return as "The Breaker of the Bat". "Of course... I'm Bane," he said, when asked if he is open to reprising the character in Warner Bros's DC Cinematic Universe. In The Dark Knight Rises, Bane gets shot by Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
That's not the only hurdle for the character to return. Even though Nolan is reported to be the executive producer on Batman v Superman and the DC Cinematic Universe, the films are set in a world different from his Dark Knight Trilogy. Even if he decides to get Bane later on for one of the films it's highly unlikely that the role would be offered again to Hardy.
Ben Affleck will succeed Bale as Batman in next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The film also stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
