10 May 2017: Amy Schumer poses at the premiere of the movie Snatched in Los Angeles Mario Anzuoni/Reuters

Amy Schumer wants your attention and is pretty much willing to strip down to her undies to gain it. The comedienne recently posted an almost-nude photo on Instagram alongside which she addressed the gender pay gap issue and recent reports about her salary demands from Netflix.

In the photo, Schumer is seen posing topless, holding her dog dressed in a hotdog costume across her breasts. Her only piece of clothing is a tiny nude-coloured thong.

"Thanks for chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid. I believe women deserve equal pay. However I don't believe I deserve equal pay to Chris [Rock] and Dave [Chapelle]," Schumer wrote captioned the 23 August post.

"[Chris and Dave] are legends and 2 of the greatest comics of all time. I would like to say that I have been selling out arenas these last couple years. Something a female comic has never done," the Trainwreck actress continued. "That's a big deal to me, especially because I know I do my best every night on stage for the audience and they have a good time."

Her comments were in response to criticism she received after a report suggested that Schumer has demanded a higher pay from Netflix for her stand-up comedy act The Leather Special after she found out that Chapelle and Rock were taking home $20m (£15.6m) for their routines.

"I didn't ask for the same as my friends. I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my ass off and be the best performer I can be. The reports of me "demanding" or "insisting" on equal pay to them aren't true," she added.

The streaming service agreed to revise the Snatched star's $11m contract but the 36-year-old has stressed that it is based on value of her own talent and not as a comparison to the two male veteran comedians.

Schumer's post comes on the heels of the recently released 2017 Forbes highest paid actors and actresses lists. Going by the pre-tax earnings, the chart-topper Mark Wahlberg earned $42m more than his female counterpart Emma Stone. The La La Land actress' earnings were not only far behind those of the Daddy's Home actor but less than 13 other men on the list.
