Tottenham faced their third consecutive defeat in the Premier League, this time at the hands of Everton at Goodison Park.

Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic, in his first full debut for the Toffees, scored the only goal of the game putting Everton in front at the 22nd minute.

The Spurs were unlucky as Jermain Defoe's goal was ruled out as an offside at the 76th minute and Louis Saha's shot was denied by the woodwork at the dying minutes of the game.

Everton, who have been unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games, managed to cling on to their three points despite many attempts from the Spurs to equalize.
