Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that summer arrival Heung-Min Son will be out for a few weeks after suffering a foot injury during the north London club's 4-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday 26 September in the Premier League. The South Korean international has made a blistering start to his career in England, and has already scored three goals in four starts in all competitions for Spurs.

The White Hart Lane outfit confirmed the attacker's injury on Wednesday (30 September) afternoon and his absence is likely to force the Argentine manager to start Harry Kane, who would have warranted a rest following back-to-back games in the Premier League and the Capital One Cup. The Argentine will be aware of AS Monaco's potential and will hope to increase their advantage in the group, which also has Belgian giants Anderlecht and Azerbaijani club Qarabag FC.

Moreover, the manager has indicated that Son will remain in England and undergo rehabilitation with the club. He will not be allowed to travel with his national team during the upcoming international break, despite his country facing a crunch World Cup qualifier game against Kuwait and a friendly against Jamaica on 8 and 13 October respectively.

"He is injured and I think he will stay in England for recovery. I think he will stay with us because it is impossible to travel with his national team," Pochettino said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"I think it will be a few weeks but it is an injury we need to assess every day. We are lucky that we have the international break now, two weeks and we hope it is a quick recovery. We believe it is not a big, big issue but the recovery is always different with different players," the former Southampton manager added.

Apart from Son, the Spurs manager is also without midfield quartet Ryan Mason, Mousa Dembele, Nabil Bentaleb and Alex Pritchard, who are still to recover from their respective injuries. "Mauricio remains without Ryan Mason (knee), Mousa Dembele (foot), Nabil Bentaleb and Alex Pritchard (both ankle)," a statement on Spurs' official site read.
