Moussa Sissoko insists he is still not sure over where his future lies, but is willing to play in England, Italy or Russia, with the striker continuing to be connected to Tottenham and Newcastle in preparation for the January transfer window.

Sissoko has starred for Toulouse since moving from the youth team to the senior side in 2007, with the French outfit currently mid-table in Ligue 1.

His skills have brought the attention of the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle, with the Toon in particular strongly rumoured to have come to an agreement with the star over a move, but it has since been denied by both camps.

And now Sissoko is claiming that he is unsure over where his future lies, telling Calciomercato he is making a decision over where to go next.

"I have not decided what I will do," he said. "I am in a reflective phase."

The Italian paper asked the France international about interest from Newcastle, Juventus and Anzhi Makhachkala he replied: "I don't know anything about this, but I don't have a preference for one type of league.

"Historicall, England and Italy are among the best, but just to be clear, I wouldn't have any problem playing in Russia."

Tottenham failed to land Joao Moutinho in the summer, despite getting an extension on deadline day to get the deal over the line, and since the transfer window came to a close Andre Villas-Boas has insisted he isn't interested in resurrecting the move for the star.

"We set our sights on that player at the end of the transfer window but we couldn't conclude the deal," AVB told Talksport.

"It's not likely that we will go back in January. Generally the market is very difficult and very expensive, and it's highly unlikely that we will continue to pursue that transfer because by then we will have [Scott] Parker coming back, and he's a player we want to come back as soon as possible."

But Parker's comeback date from injury is far from set, and with that in mind the club could be in the market for a midfielder who can provide a cheaper alternative to Moutinho.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have been widely documented to hold Sissoko in high esteem.

The 26 year old recently said that he had spoken to fellow Frenchman Yohan Cabaye over moving to St James' Park, saying: "Yohan loves it at St James' Park, so understandably he gave him a glowing report.

"They are both good friends so Moussa values what Yohan had to say."
